Happy Fourth of July!
It’s kind of weird having a holiday in the middle of the week, but after last weekend, it’s nice having a day just to catch up on life.
I always wished I was one of those people who made themed food for holidays, but since I really don’t celebrate holidays anyway, it has just never happened. I had planned to have Greek yogurt with strawberries and blueberries for breakfast this morning, assembled in a cute July 4th kind of way. Unfortunately, when I woke up this morning, all I could think about eating was a banana and peanut butter on a rice cake. So I had that completely non-patriotic breakfast instead.
I did find some lovely, patriotic displays of food on the internet.
And if you are like me and aren’t capable of such beautiful things, you could try something a bit easier that still screams Independence Day.

This is what I had intended to do for breakfast. Source
And if you don’t want anything sweet, you can make a patriotic pizza.
Bob might be able to talk me into to going to see some fireworks tonight. That’s if I can survive my workout today (No More Trouble Zones DVD by Jillian Michaels). My gyms are closed today (well, 2 of 3 of them are) and I don’t want to go to the one that is open. Plus, I ran outside yesterday in 95F and it was hot and miserable. Jillian Michaels will kick my butt though. I have never made it all the way through that horrid workout.
Now excuse me while I go shoe shopping.
And get my nails done…
Happy eating!
